Recovery Model incorporating SMART
We deliver a recovery model incorporating SMART programme of between 4 and 24 weeks, dependent on the needs of the individual. We offer a unique blend of cognitive behavioural therapy, psychoeducation, psychotherapy recovery, individual counselling and key-working, as well as using art and animal therapy as part of our Therapeutic Gardens & Workshop sessions which are rated by the CQC. We offer a wide range of complimentary treatments including Reiki, meditation and relaxation. Our person-centered approach places encourages residents take an active role in forming the scaffolding that supports sustained recovery.
Residents are encouraged to take responsibility for their own emotions and behaviours and, through group working, positively and pragmatically address former addictive behaviours and lifestyles. Our optional evening and weekend activities are also open to all residents of the Therapeutic Community.
We work closely with other external agencies to ensure the healthcare needs of our residents are met alongside working towards their recovery, such as the Hep C Trust. Our aim is to enable our residents to leave our services as completely independent individuals, so they can create new futures for themselves away from their addictions. We also now include optional parenting classes within our treatment programmes, delivered by qualified, trauma informed facilitators. Attendees are awarded certificates of attendance upon completion of these courses. The content is relevant for both parents and grandparents.
Our programme has been developed based on the principles of a Therapeutic Community, whilst retaining many of the aspects of the Recovery Model of treatment delivery. This community approach allows all of our residents to benefit from a variety of expertise available within our staff team.

You can view an example timetable of a week in our Therapeutic Community here. Each week we focus on a different theme such as ‘Recovery’ or ‘Motivation’ within our Therapeutic Groups.
The reaction from our residents has been overwhelmingly positive, with one resident saying, "I now have better health, I feel physically stronger and have more confidence. It has worked very well for me both as an individual and also towards making our residential community more connected and bonded. I am feeling happier and with a deeper sense of wellbeing."

This program is designed to provide continuous support, a safe haven and peer support for ongoing recovery, with a key focus on reducing relapse. Read more about this service.
How can you become a resident at Kenward’s Therapeutic Community?
You can be referred to our services through a community alcohol and drug service; the closest one to us is CGL Maidstone. You can also self-refer to our services where you would pay for them privately. We aim to make our prices as affordable as possible in order to make our services as accessible as they can be for those who need them.
For self-funders, the current cost of our rehabilitation centre is £1700 per week for 6 weeks, if the resident decides to extend treatment beyond 6 weeks we then offer a discounted rate of £1500 per week.
